This soup is the perfect blend of sweet and savory.


• 4 cans Serious Bean Co. Dr Pepper Beans

• 64oz. vegetable stock

• 16oz. ground sweet Italian sausage

• 1 small/medium sweet onion – diced

• 1 Cup celery – diced

• 1 Cup carrots – diced

• 1-2 bay leaves

• Olive oil – as needed

• Small bunch of green onions – sliced thin for garnish

• Seasoned croutons – for garnish


Sauté diced sweet onions with olive oil until they are translucent. Set aside to add later.

Sauté sweet Italian sausage until browned and fully cooked – drain oil. Set aside to add later.

Puree/process/blend 1 can of beans including liquid with 16 oz. of vegetable stock and process until smooth. Add mixture to soup kettle.

Add to soup kettle: sautéed sweet Italian sausage, sautéed onions, diced celery, diced carrots, 3 remaining cans of beans (including liquid), bay leaves, remainder of vegetable stock (48oz.).

Bring to simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

Serve immediately in bowls, garnished with croutons and thin sliced green onions.
